| I am serving my fourth term as a Beaufort County Commissioner having been first elected in 1996. During these 14 years I have been the lead Commissioner in three large projects undertaken by the Board of County Commissioners. These are: (1) fighting the OLF, (2) getting the State Storm Water Rules changed, (3) opposition to the EPA shutting down PCS Phosphate (even temporarily). I subscribe to very conservative political values. I believe in smaller government, less regulation and personal responsibility. My 14 year record is clear. Through 13 consecutive annual budgets for Beaufort County, I have never voted for a net increase in taxes. I am committed to changing government and public policy without using money. I am a native of North Carolina from Union County (near Charlotte). I was born in 1940, educated in North Carolina public Schools. I am a graduate of NC State College (the old days) at Raleigh, with a Batchelor of Science in Geological Engineering. |
